DIRECTING SERVICES

We direct shows either long-term or as a one-off ‘fresh eyes’ session.

- We help you find structure, sharpen the jokes, and keep your shows heart intact.

- Each session includes detailed notes joke by joke, making sure every single punchline is the best it possibly can be.

- Then, we look bigger picture at the show structure, through-lines, transitions and tone.

HOW WE WORK.

WHERE?

In person sessions are offered in Edinburgh or Glasgow area, otherwise we have plenty of experience working virtually

WHEN?

We recommend, for full support, getting in touch as early as possible.

However you pay by the session, and can do as many or as few sessions as you feel you need

HOW MUCH?

Each session is £125.

This includes the prep work watching the show and writing up notes, plus a 2-hour session

After working on my show for months, I found it hard to step back and look at it objectively.
Katie was able to review my whole show, and offer tweaks and suggestions to help not only the overall theme and flow, but also making bits punchier and funnier.

Katie took my shapeless mould of stand-up bits and helped me find the clear theme of the show. Not only did she watch videos of my WIPs, she sat with me to find the clear story of the show and also added punch-lines. Katie created a great environment to brainstorm ideas and jokes. My show was named by Rolling Stone as one of the 12 stand-out shows of the Edinburgh Fringe 2024, this would not have happened without Katie's direction.

Katie not only did a detailed, joke-by-joke breakdown of the show, she was extremely supportive and collaborative making me so much more confident in my show. I felt as though Katie really worked to understand the show from multiple angles and brought a fresh perspective to what did and didn't work. She came equipped with solutions and checked in with me throughout the process, it was so helpful to have her on board! Also, it goes without saying, Katie is extremely funny making the whole experience a delight.

GET STARTED

All you need to get started is a recent recording of the show. Don’t worry about the quality, an audio recording on your phone does the trick.

We’ll watch this show a couple of times and write up detailed notes per joke and on the show as a whole.

We’ll then arrange a 2-hour session to go through and discuss each note, and to brainstorm.

Post session you leave with all of the notes to continue working on, plus some homework for the next WIP.
